Camera Down. Again

Cams down again, but this time its a router problem. Should be back up when I buy either a new adapter or I can run a new cable across the house.

Site Down Time

We will be moving house from Thursday, so the live stream will be off for a few days until broadband is re-instated.

In the meantime the static files and email will be hosted by Smully.

All (ftp, http, email) upgraded and all shiney and 'new'.

Server Downtime

Theres going to be on-off server downtime over the next few weeks, whilst we rebuild and upgrade the server, then when whilst we move. This will effect the webpage, camera and mail.

Will do the best we can to get it up and running, but it will depend on arranging a new ISP.

Still Gah!

The cameras still down and I am not able to replace it jsut yet. Have looked at alternate ways of doing things but time is currently at a premium. Will try and get things done next week.

Upgrades (2)

The site upgrade has generally gone semi ok-ish. The majority of the pages and data are there in one piece (some in several in fact). The faltering bits are the comment submission and guestbook which are, well to be frank, broken. I'll try and get this fixed when I can, perhaps this weekend. In the interim sorry for the inconvenience, and if you want anything, just drop us a mail at the address in the footer.

Server Upgrades

Just a quick note to say that the site has been moved to a backup server whilst we do some hardware and software upgrades. As such the odd un-expected badness might happen. Hopefully everything should be done dusted and back better than before by the end of the weekend. Any major problems, questions or queries, just drop us a mail at the addresses below.

Vacation

Right, I'm off for the next two weeks to swim with the fishies, eat till I burst and lie on a beach watching sunsets and sunrises drinking local beer. As such, its up to Eddie to hold the fort, however with no opposable thumbs to assist him, any major problems are likely to go unfixed.

Site Upgrades

Over the weekend the mail and webserver have been upgraded. This should make things around here a bit quicker and more reliable. Claws crossed.

New Things

Have made a couple of changes about the place, which include:

• Syndication feeds: RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom Feeds;
• All of which validate correctly here, there and everywhere respectfully.
• I have tried to ensure compliance with most web standards and the Site currently meets CSS, XHTML and Section 508 compliance. The one that currently eludes me is WAI level AAA as I fall down on some javascript in the menu at level AA but I'll get there; Finally,
• There is also a WAP index should you be interested.
• On an aesthetic note I have altered some of the CSS, and feel happier with the look in general, especially the headings

Now its just a matter of keeping it that way.

Favicon.ico

Have just finished and uploaded a new favorites icon, for the site. It 'should' be picked up automatically, and will be by firefox, but probably not by IE6. To correct this, delete the existing entry and re-favoritize it.

Sadly, IE6 will also lose it when you clear the cache...

Settled

Well, Eddie has been in his new home for nearly a week and seems quite happy. He has settled on two spots for his general day to day sitting/sleeping, and seems, given winter, to be back to his sleepy self.

All in all the project turned out better than I hoped.

Done And Dusted

Well Ladies and Gentlelocusts as you may be able to see, we have upped and move and bar a couple of minor jobs, including insulating the cabling and replacing the glass*, everything is done. Whilst intersting and rewarding, its not something we will be in a rush to do again. It was not so much the build time, as the packing away in between stints, the problems of not having a garage/shed/lot to work in.

Camera (2)

Unfortunately, it looks like the camera will be down until a newer model can be permanentally sourced, probably some time early january.

Anyhoo, have yourselves a good xmas and hopefully see you in the New Year. :)

New Set

We're in the process of purchasing a new set which is bigger and most certainly better. Although it'll need gutting, insulating and re-sealing, not to mention a couple more windows put in it, it should be a big improvement.

Email

The email server is up and running and seems to be working fine. Just need to get it to allow the form from the contact page to get delivered to the correct mailbox.
Then its just the tweaking the final bits and bobs.

Welcome

First, let me say welcome to EDTV.
As you can see, the structure of the site is complete, and all thats left is some editing and bits 'n' bobs which I intend to have completed and up to scratch in a week or so.
Hopefully you will either find something interesting on the site, or on one of the links from it. If you have any suggestions, drop me a line from the contact page.
